Orono is one of the more affluent lakeside communities in the metro. The homes here tend to be large, custom-built, and set on wooded lots near the water. That means exterior finishes get scrutinized. Neighbors notice when stucco is cracked, stained, or patched badly. The homes along Stubbs Bay Road, Crystal Bay, and the Navarre area near Highway 19 are good examples of the kind of properties we work on regularly, where the finish has to hold up and look right.
The climate out here is the same brutal cycle that affects all of Minnesota. Freeze-thaw hits hard on west-facing stucco walls, especially on homes with lake exposure. Wind off Minnetonka carries moisture that works into any crack that's been left alone too long. Orono's older homes, some built mid-century and expanded over the decades, often have original stucco that needs honest repair work rather than a quick patch. That's the kind of job we're built for.
