Dayton hugs the Crow River where it meets the Mississippi, and that river exposure matters for exterior work. Moisture gets into every gap it can find, especially in the spring thaw and again in November when temps start swinging hard. Stucco that wasn't applied right or hasn't been maintained will crack, blister, and let water behind the cladding.
We see it on homes out here every season. The city has grown steadily as families move into the newer subdivisions along the western edge, away from the older farmstead parcels closer to the river bottoms. A lot of those newer builds use EIFS or traditional stucco finishes, and the older properties along County Road 144 and near Diamond Lake Road often have original plaster or aged stucco that needs attention.
Both ends of the market keep us busy in Dayton.
